National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level examination conducted by NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training) at the secondary school level to provide a scholarship to the deserving candidates. The objective of the test is to identify and recognize students with high intellect and skills and then easing their journey by providing them with scholarships.
NTSE Exam Levels
The exam is conducted in offline mode every year at two levels: Stage 1 is at the State level and Stage 2 is the exam at National level. Around 1.5 lakhs students appear for the exam, out of which only 1000 students are selected for the scholarship. So, invariably, the competition to feature in the merit list is pretty fierce. The exam is divided into two parts at both the stages, i.e. Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
Chapter 2 on ‘Alphabet Test’ from the book ‘Mega Study Guide for NTSE’ of Disha Publication will give you an excellent insight on what kind of questions are asked. The questions and the approach are first explained by few illustrations and then there are two exercises for students’ practice. The students will get a rough idea of the level of the questions asked in the exam and practice helps a great deal in improving the cognitive abilities. Explained solutions are attached so that students do not sit with any unclear doubts.
To be amongst the Top 1000, dilly-dallying has to be stopped with an immediate effect. Practice the exercises now and no one can stop your name from being featured on the list.
