IBPS PO exam is conducted for the recruitment of Probationary Officers in Public Sector banks and provides services to all Public-Sector Banks, SBI, and Associate Banks – SBI, RBI, SIDBI, NABARD, LIC & Insurance companies, and Banks relating to the IBPS society. The exam is held online. 

IBPS PO is held in two Stages:

  1. IBPS PO Pre-Exam [2019-Oct. 12, 13, 19, and 20]
  2. IBPS PO (Main) Examination [2019-Nov. 30]

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria – 2019

Eligibility criteria for the exam are as follows:

Educational Qualification: Graduation Degree in any streams such as BA, B.Com, B.Tech, etc., from a Government University recognized by India. While registering for the exam, it is mandatory to mention the percentage obtained in Graduation.

Computer Literacy: Since IBPS PO exam is conducted online, so computer operation knowledge is a must.

Language Proficiency: Candidates are required to have verbal and written proficiency in the State/UT official language. Candidates should be able to read, write and speak the language in order to be qualified enough for sitting for the exam.

Age Eligibility: 20 – 30 Years with relaxation in reserved quota.

Nationality / Citizenship – Applicants:

Candidates applying for IBPS PO Banking Examination should fall under the following categories:

  1. Should be an Indian Citizen.
  2. The subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
  3. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement.
  4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries consisting Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, having an intention of permanent settlement in India.
    Candidates belonging to categories 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt. of India in their favour.

What’s after IBPS PO?

Selected candidates can be posted at any place in India. The provisional allotment of the eligible candidates with their banks is released on IBPS’s official website. IBPS allots Banks to each candidate on the basis of preferences made by them at the time of online registration.

  1. a) Salary – IBPS PO after clearing both Prelims and Mains:

Revised basic pay of the Bank P.O is Rs. 27,620 (with four advance increments) in the scale of 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020.

How to prepare for IBPS PO?

Candidates must prepare in a systematic manner for IBPS PO exam. One must have complete knowledge on the latest syllabus and exam pattern for both Prelims & Mains. The syllabus covers various topics; it is important to choose the right study material belonging to Prelims and Mains so that you can understand all the concepts completely and therefore practice a wide variety of questions as well.

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Syllabus 2019

Prelims syllabus includes Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.

IBPS PO – Mains Exam Syllabus 2019

From this year onwards, the exam pattern for MAINS has been changed. A descriptive paper has been added in mains exam syllabus consisting of 4 sections totaling 200 marks with a duration of 180 minutes & descriptive paper having 1 section totaling 25 marks with a duration of 30 minutes to attempt. IBPS PO Main consists of 5 sections i.e Reasoning & Computer, Data Analysis & Interpretation, English Language, General Awareness, and Descriptive Test (Letter Writing &Essay).

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2019

The examination is conducted online. The paper includes two parts:

  1. Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam and
  2. Tier 2 or IBPS Mains Exam.
  3. This examination is followed by an interview. Paper is the same as SBI PO 2018, but a descriptive paper has been added to the mains exam.

So, that’s the main change in the Mains examination this year. But don’t be scared of it, it’s as easy as picking an apple from an apple tree.

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern

IBPS PO preliminary examination is conducted online with time duration of one hour, it consists of three sections carrying 100 questions in total. IBPS PO pre has negative marking and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates are supposed to fulfill the sectional cut-off In order to qualify for the Mains examination. And that’s not all the most important thing is practice, so for that, we’ve decided to provide you IBPS PO Prelim 2018 solved papers, the reason behind giving you previous year paper is to provide you a better understanding related to the level of difficulty of questions, type of questions and the exam pattern. Distribution of marks for every section is given below:

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2019

Exam pattern of IBPS Mains has changed this year. A Descriptive paper has been added to the examination. Mains exam is conducted online as well. It has four sections having a total score of 200 marks and time duration of 180 minutes. Descriptive paper 1 sections have a total score of 25 marks and time duration of 30 minutes.
